Biography:

Jacques Ambonville has been a member of the Celesio (formerly Gehe AG) Management Board since 1995 and oversees the Wholesale Division, a responsibility acquired in 2002.  Mr. Ambonville continues, in a position held since 1993, as the Chief Executive Officer of OCP (Office Commercial Pharmaceutique in Saint-Ouen, France), which is a fully owned subsidiary of Celesio. 

Having worked for OCP since 1975, Mr. Ambonville has held several management positions within the organization including Managing Director, Director of Business Development, Director of Sales and Purchasing, and Warehouse Manager. Prior to joining OCP, Mr. Ambonville was a pharmacist in private practice.

Mr. Ambonville received a degree from the Pharmacy Faculty of Nancy/France in 1973. He also completed studies and received his Master's degree in Economics in 1980 at the Institut de Contrôle et de Gestion (I.C.G.) and his Master's degree in Marketing in 1983 at the Institut National de Marketing (I.N.M.).

Gehe Group reported turnover of US$19.88 billion for the year 2002, with the Wholesale Division claiming US$17.11 of that total.  With Gehe wholesale market active in 10 European countries, its profits before tax grew 12.6% over the previous year.
