Biography:

Takaaki Matsutani has been with Toho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in Tokyo since 1964.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree of Law from Sophia University.  Since joining Toho Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. he has served in various posts within the company.  In 1969 he was the Assistant Branch Manager of the Utsunomiya Branch.  In 1974 he was elected as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Utsunomiya Branch.  In August of 1979 he was promoted to Deputy General Manager of their sales department.  In 1989, he became the General Manager of the Sales Department.  On October 1993 he got promoted to Vice-President. Culminating his career, in June of 1999, he was elected to be President and Representative Director of Toho Pharmaceutical Company.

 Mr. Matsutani is also a Chairman of the Board of the Japanese Pharmaceutical Wholesalers Association and a Member of the Board of the Pharmaceutical Wholesalers Association of Tokyo.
